The truth cell phone companies are hiding
The public assumes that wireless carriers’ costs are far higher than they actually are, and profit margins are concealed by a heavy curtain. During the past three years, four major carriers decided to increase the pay-per-use price for messages to 20 cents from 10 cents. According to the New York Times, the cost went up even though the texting business is booming.

Hi Deb
I am sure that there are a lot of hidden charges in the cost of using a cell. I don't even want to think about it. These companies are making a mint!
Cellphones, especially in Canada, are an outrageous ripoff and that is why I use mine as little as possible. Frankly I hate the ^%$** things and cellphone/Blackberry society in general.
Rose: No kidding! A person can get dizzy just trying to interpret the wireless bill.
Ian: I can't imagine that mobile phone costs in Canada are any worse than they are in the U.S. For the most part, I'm pretty much a no frills type of person. I believe in keeping it simple.
That said, I carry a work phone and a personal cell. My work phone is a PDA, which is effective in helping me manage a heavy workload. I guess that makes me a member of the "BlackBerry society." (sigh)
