Mahmoud Ahmadinejad joins the blogosphere
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written his first blog post. In it, he describes his impoverished upbringing.
The site attempts to be interactive, with sections for comments, questions from readers, and opinion polls. The blog can be read in Arabic, English, Farsi and French. Flags located on the upper right side of the site offer readers the opportunity to choose a language.
It is not yet clear how well Ahmadinejad's blog will be received. User figures already appear high. Thousands have taken part in the online vote. BBC News has more on this story.

Politicians have been blogging since long. Some democrats made it the cornerstone of a new campaign. I guess it was only a matter of time for the master of rethoric to appear on the blogging stage. Maybe we will soon see Bin Laden make his appearance.
Emmanuel: You are right about the politicians. Osama Bin Laden on the blogging stage?? Now that would be news!
