A pair of magical hands

Former trucker teaches surgery

James Crudup, an ex-trucker with roots in Mississippi, is revered by many doctors. Crudup, who never went to college, who was never allowed to operate on a human, was considered the best surgeon in the University of Michigan medical school. And he's credited with training some of the world's most reknown specialists. The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, MS, tells this American story.

That's pretty interesting. A man with no education or background in medicine teaching some of the world's best surgeons how to operate? That is truly a talent. It's sad to see he isn't as known as some of the other surgeons around the world, nor does he have the sort of financial might you would expect of a man of his calibre.

Ray-zor: I agree. I hope this post raises public awareness of this amazing man's contribution to medicine.

This is amazing. God puts people in the right places at the right time. This is great! It would have been great if those he helped made this more known. All I can say is WOW! Wow! Wow!

BTW, Rose, someone must have helped get the word out about Mr. Crudup. His story was recently featured on the NBC Today Show.
