It paints a disturbing picture of the man-made failures that helped lead to last year's Katrina disaster. What are the implications for this year? MSNBC and The Associated Press take a look.

hey there DCS., how's it going. today i got stuck out in the rain. on the way back from treating my daughter for birthday lunch, got off the bus, and it started to drizzle a bit, before long it was coming down in torrents, and within minutes my feet (sandles) were sopping wet, the bottoms of my pants started dripping, then a car came along and i thought i was at the Australian Big surf competition when a car drove by and this huge wave of water just missed me. Water was running down the roads in streams and completely covered my feet, like i was wading in a fountain...by the time i got home i was drenched from head to foot. This morning the weather man said it was going to rain, but I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS! - a monsoon!!!!

Dragonflyfilly: Wow. I hope you didn't stay wet too long. Of course that couldn't have been pleasant, but at least you didn't experience the destruction of a hurricane. Thanks for stopping by.

thanks dcs , Ref your last comment: i wish i still looked more like THAT, all that's left is the hair! since i have been on prednazone. my daughter gets upset with me with i say my reflection in the mirror still startles me - my poor little lips have disappeared into this mass of cheeks - i call myself "chipmunk cheeks" - but i have to make fun of myself or i would just be plain pathetic! - actually i look very much like a cabbage patch kid! (i know i should not be so vain, but whatcha gonna do?) - supposedly this problem will go away once i am off the Prednazone, so that is my goal. - well, i guess i will have to work on the beauty INSIDE, eh?

and to answer your June 2 comment: nah, i was o.k. as it was a warm muggy day, and yes, you are right, i'm glad we don't have many hurricanes here, in fact, i don't think we have them at all, just some quite heavy wild winds.

cheers for now, have a fab weekend.
